The Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, has endorsed the extension of the tenure of Adewale Adeniyi as the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) in Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu, attributing it to a sterling leadership and performance.
He noted that Adeniyi’s exceptional leadership and high performance in service delivery has earned the Nigeria Customs Service respect and recognition globally.
Aniebonam added that the extension will enable Nigeria to sustain its chairmanship of the World Customs Organisation (WCO) and complete its two-year tenure.
He pointed out that under Adeniyi’s management, the service has excelled in revenue collection, suppression of smuggling, trade facilitation, stakeholder engagement, electronic systems innovation, and international relations.
His words: “CGC Adeniyi extension of service is a reward for high performance in service delivery and indeed an opportunity for Nigeria to sustain it’s chairmanship of the world customs organisation-WCO
“The truth is that his management team and officers and men of the service have earned themselves honour and respect for high performance.
“By implication Wale Adeniyi and his high performance management team are likely to go two years more to enable Nigeria serve out it’s WCO tenure of two years, what a child of God indeed”.
The NAGAFF Founder expressed optimism that with Adeniyi’s leadership at the WCO and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the WTO, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu is yielding positive results.
President Tinubu on Thursday July 31, 2025 announced an extension by one year of Adeniyi’s tenure as the CGC.
