The Customs Area Controller Ondo/Ekiti Command, Comptroller Oluyemi Bewaji, recently paid a courtesy visit to heads of security agencies in Ondo and Ekiti states.

This, according to the Command, was In line with the Policy thrust of consolidation and collaboration of the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi.

The visit began with Nigeria Security & Civil Defence, Akure last Tuesday May 14, 2024 followed by other agencies which include National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Akure, 32 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, Akure Ondo state.

Wednesday May 15, 2024, the CAC continued her visit to Nigeria Immigration Service, Akure, Nigeria Immigration Service, Ado-Ekiti and Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps, Ado-Ekiti while on Thursday May 16, 2024, she visited Department of State Services, Akure, NDLEA, Ado-Ekiti and ended the day at the Department of State Services, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti state.

The visit  according to a statement from the Public Relations Officer, Ondo/Ekiti Area Command, Aondoakura Dzungwenen (Deputy Superintendent of Customs), was to geared towards improving  collaboration in intelligence gathering and sharing, operational support, improved communication channels, joint engagement in training, seminar, workshop, and others.

Bewaji while delivering her speech stated that in line with the policy thrust of the CGC of collaboration, under her stewardship, the synergy between the Command and all sister agencies will not only be sustained, but will be moved to the next level, stressing that we all need each other to achieve our respective constitutional mandates.

In response, all the heads visited assured the CAC of their readiness to work with Customs as the relationship existing has been smooth and cordial and that their doors are always open for her.

The heads of various agencies she visited are the Commandant Ibiloye Oluyemi Joshua; State Commandant NSCDC, Ondo State Command, Commander of Narcotics, Mumuni Raji Kayode; Brigadier General John Rimbut Lar of 32 Artillery Brigade; and Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery, Akure.

Others include Comptroller Nigeria Immigration Service Ondo State Command, CIS Ambrose Wale Akinrinsola; Comptroller Nigeria Immigration Service Ekiti State Command, CIS Adekunle Dauda Jimoh; the State Commandant Ekiti State Command, Commandant Agboola Sunday, State Director of Security, Abraham Vanokah, DSS Ondo State Command, the State Commander NDLEA Ekiti State Command, Commander of Narcotics, Aina Sunday Rufus; and State Director of Security, Olufemi Shotayo; and DSS Ekiti State Command.

Bewaji assumed office in May 2024. She is an indigene of Osun state, prior to her posting to Ondo/Ekiti Area Command; she was Comptroller Discipline Seat, a Unit under Human Resource Development (HRD) Headquarters, Abuja.
