The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) and TomorrowNow have partnered to strengthen the delivery of timely, reliable and actionable weather and climate advisories to farmers across Nigeria, in a move aimed at improving agricultural planning and resilience.
The collaboration was highlighted during a sideline event on the third day of the Alliance for Hydromet Development Annual Meeting in Lagos.
The initiative seeks to make climate information clearer, more accessible and more useful to farmers, enabling them to make informed decisions on planting, livestock management and other critical agricultural activities.
Speaking at the event, NiMet’s Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Charles Anosike, emphasised the need to standardise climate information provided to stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.
Anosike stressed that the partnership must be results-driven, with measurable outcomes that translate into practical benefits for farmers.

He underscored the importance of ensuring that climate advisories are consistent, reliable and tailored to the needs of agricultural stakeholders, particularly those whose livelihoods depend on weather conditions.
In his remarks, TomorrowNow Chief Executive Officer, Brian Miranda, assured NiMet’s leadership of the organisation’s commitment to delivering climate advisory services at scale to support Nigeria’s agriculture and livestock sectors.
The partnership is expected to expand access to actionable weather and climate guidance, helping farmers and livestock producers make better-informed decisions, manage weather-related risks and strengthen their resilience to climate variability.
By combining meteorological expertise with scaled climate advisory services, the collaboration is expected to support more informed agricultural practices and contribute to building a stronger, more climate-resilient agricultural value chain in Nigeria.
