A retired senior Customs officer, Oba James Ajiboye, has been enthroned as the Elemure of Emure Kingdom in Ekiti State, adopting the title “Otutubiosun 1, Ajigbotulu”.

This development was shared by Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Olabode Faleyimu, with Media Hotline Platform via WhatsApp on July 13, 2025.

Oba Ajiboye’s coronation marks another instance of a Customs officer transitioning to a traditional ruler, following in the footsteps of retired Deputy Comptroller Imra Ayodeji Akintola, who became the Alua of Erin-Oke Kingdom in Osun State.

Before his retirement, Oba Ajiboye served in various Customs formations across Nigeria, including FOU ‘A’, PTML Ibadan, Seme, Apapa, and Maiduguri commands. The Customs Service, known for revenue generation, enforcement, and anti-smuggling efforts, has produced several notable royalties.

The Media Hotline Platform extends its best wishes to His Royal Majesty, Oba James Babatunde Ajiboye, on his new role as the Elemure of Emure Kingdom.
