Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to operational excellence, ethics in action, innovation and sustainable growth as it reflects on a successful 2025 and unveils its strategic priorities for 2026 and beyond.

In a New Year message issued on behalf of the Chairman, Board of Directors and Executive Management, the company expressed deep appreciation to its customers for their continued patronage and trust throughout 2025. SAHCO noted that strong customer partnerships remain central to its operations and long-term success, assuring stakeholders of its commitment to attentive engagement, service excellence and consistently exceeding expectations in the years ahead.

The company also acknowledged the invaluable support of its stakeholders and partner government agencies, emphasising that their collaboration was instrumental in enhancing service delivery and achieving shared goals.

Highlighting internal achievements, SAHCO commended the dedication and professionalism of its workforce nationwide, attributing major operational milestones in 2025 to their teamwork and commitment. Key achievements included the successful renewal of the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) certification. The company further confirmed that its Regulated Agent (RA3) certification remains valid until 2027, while its Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) and Quality Management System (QMS) certifications were successfully renewed in 2025.

SAHCO also announced the renewal of its Training School Authorisation, disclosing plans to expand the school and enhance its curriculum in 2026 in alignment with global best practices.

In terms of business growth, the company revealed that it onboarded several new airline customers in 2025, including Ethiopian Airlines, Air Tanzania, Air Algérie, ValueJet Airlines, United Nigeria Airlines’ regional routes, as well as Pioneer Airlines, Binani Airlines, ExeJet/Enugu Air, and Air Peace’s Antigua and Barbados operations, further strengthening its market presence.

The company’s strong performance in 2025 also attracted multiple industry recognitions. These include the FAAN Safety Excellence Award, Aircraft Handling Service Achievement Award from NIGAV, Aviation Service Provider of the Year from the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Best Ground Support Service Company of the Year at the Nigeria International Air Show, and GSE Certification of Recognition from IATA. Additionally, British Airways honoured SAHCO’s Abuja Station with a Bronze Award and its Lagos Station with a Gold Award for Punctuality and Safety across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions.

Advancing its sustainability agenda, SAHCO stated that it commenced the phased replacement of ageing equipment with eco-friendly alternatives in 2025 and will sustain the initiative in 2026, while maintaining full environmental and sustainability compliance across all facilities.

Looking ahead, SAHCO disclosed that its 2026 strategy will prioritise operational excellence, revenue growth and business expansion. Planned initiatives include expanding cargo services, strengthening partnerships with state airports, pursuing new certifications, deepening engagement with local, regional and international airline partners, enhancing customer engagement strategies, and diversifying into new business lines across the aviation value chain.

According to the management, these initiatives are anchored on the company’s “4Ps Strategy” for 2026 – People, Process, Performance and Platform. The strategy aims to build a highly skilled and safety-driven workforce, standardise and enforce operating procedures, leverage data-driven analytics to improve performance and revenue, and develop an integrated digital and operational platform that connects people, processes, equipment and data.

As it steped into 2026, SAHCO reaffirmed its focus on reimagining excellence, with ethics at the core, innovation in action and adaptability driving sustainable success.
