The Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Nigeria has announced the official unveiling of its commemorative book, – “The Birth Before the Spread” on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

The landmark event is scheduled to hold at the NAF Conference Centre, Kado District, Abuja, and is set to spotlight the role of women in shaping Nigeria’s logistics and transport sector.

According to a statement by WiLAT Nigeria Founder, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim, the former Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Zainab Maina, will chair the occasion. The event is expected to draw top stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and the private sector.

Nigeria’s first female Minister of Transport and Aviation, and WiLAT Global Ambassador, Amb. Dr. Kema Chikwe, will serve as Chief Host.

Other dignitaries expected include WiLAT Nigeria matrons, trustees, pioneers, role models, past and present leaders, as well as representatives of WiLAT international chapters.

The book, “The Birth Before the Spread” documents the inspiring origin and global growth of WiLAT. It traces the journey of the women empowerment arm of the CILT, from its pioneering beginnings in Nigeria to its current status as a global movement with 40 chapters worldwide.

Published by Kings Communications Limited, the publication is positioned as both a historical record and a source of inspiration for future generations of women pursuing leadership and professional excellence in logistics and transport.
