In a renewed demonstration of its dedication to social welfare, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc carried out a series of impactful humanitarian initiatives across multiple states to commemorate the International Day of Charity.
The company expanded its reach this year, supporting vulnerable children, widows, and community-based institutions through well-coordinated donations and engagements.
In the company’s Region West operations, Julius Berger extended support to two notable institutions — the Hearts of Gold Children Hospice, a palliative and respite home for children with disabilities, and the Shinning Light Beach School Foundation — donating essential food and relief items to aid their care and educational efforts targeted at vulnerable groups.

Speaking on behalf of management and staff, Mr. James Agama emphasised that Julius Berger’s CSR philosophy goes beyond simple philanthropy. “Corporate Social Responsibility at Julius Berger is anchored on long-term impact. It reflects our enduring commitment to building stronger communities, improving quality of life, and supporting causes that promote inclusivity, education, healthcare, and social welfare across Nigeria,” he said. He noted that the company’s CSR efforts are built around four strategic pillars: Education, Healthcare, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Development — each designed to deliver meaningful contributions to national development.
The beneficiary institutions expressed heartfelt appreciation, commending Julius Berger for its sustained compassion and timely interventions.
At Shinning Light Beach School Foundation, Founder Lady Salami Dorcas highlighted the increasing scarcity of donations and praised the company’s generosity. “I am super excited by the donation made today by Julius Berger because the burden of catering for food supply in this orphanage has been taken care of for a long period. I am exceedingly grateful… May the Lord continue to bless your company, management, and staff”, she said.

The Julius Berger delegation at the Lagos outreach included Mr. James Agama, Mrs. Funke Obolo, Ero Sandra Onome, Mobolaji Ogunyemi, and Mercy Ogheneraye.
In a similar gesture, the company donated food items and cash tokens to two orphanages in the Federal Capital Territory — Destined Children Orphanage, Kado, and Unique Choices Care Foundation, Kubwa — extending love and support in honour of the International Day of Charity.
At Destined Children Orphanage, which currently shelters 45 children between one month and nineteen years old, Administrator Ms. Sarah Chukwuemeka expressed profound gratitude. “We are deeply grateful. What you have brought will go a long way. We appreciate Julius Berger for reaching out to us and for everyone who represented the company today. God bless you”, she said. She also noted that the donations will significantly enhance the children’s well-being. The children responded with songs and prayers of thanks.
Similarly, at Unique Choices Care Foundation, founder Mrs. Choice C. Michael expressed overwhelming joy. “I was overwhelmed with joy when I saw this. I thank Julius Berger a million times. The Bible says a giver never lacks, and I pray that God continues to bless your organisation”, she said.
The foundation, which currently cares for 24 children and supports over 650 widows, welcomed the team warmly amid a celebration filled with gratitude.

Representing Julius Berger Region Central and North, Public Relations Officer Mr. Akeem Lawal reaffirmed the company’s ongoing support. “Every year, Julius Berger extends assistance to orphanages and charity organisations as part of its CSR policy. In addition to today’s donation, the company will also credit each orphanage with a token sum”, he stated.
The International Day of Charity underscores global solidarity and compassion, raising awareness about the challenges of vulnerable populations and inspiring collective action.
For Julius Berger, CSR continues to serve as a bridge connecting the company with communities across Nigeria. Guided by its philosophy of “building beyond infrastructure,” the organisation consistently demonstrates that true corporate success is reflected not only in completed projects but also in lives uplifted and communities strengthened.
