The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has celebrated officers retiring in 2025 for their exemplary service to the Agency, at a send-forth ceremony held on December 11, 2025.
Leading the event, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Charles Anosike, joined management and staff in honouring the retirees who have either completed 35 years of service or attained the statutory retirement age. He described the occasion as a milestone in NiMet’s institutional history, recognising the enduring impact of the retirees’ contributions.

Anosike commended the officers for their professionalism, operational competence and unwavering dedication to NiMet’s mandate. According to him, the retirees played critical roles in sustaining institutional stability, preserving corporate memory and mentoring younger professionals within the Agency.
He noted that the outgoing officers consistently upheld NiMet’s core values, ensured the transfer of vital knowledge and maintained the high standards that define the Agency’s service delivery. Their commitment, he added, has strengthened NiMet’s resilience and supported its steady growth over the years.

Speaking separately, the retirees expressed profound appreciation to Anosike for what they described as his transformative leadership. They applauded his efforts in repositioning the Agency, improving staff morale and driving reforms that have enhanced operational efficiency and elevated NiMet’s national profile.
The retirees described the Director General’s tenure as one characterised by innovation, integrity and renewed institutional focus. Anosike, in turn, congratulated them on the successful completion of their careers and wished them good health, fulfilment and success in their future endeavours.
