The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has held its first parade of the 2026 operational year, emphasising discipline, integrity, and professionalism among its officers.

The event, which combined a solemn remembrance of fallen colleagues and a comprehensive health screening for personnel, was marked by a renewed commitment to national duty.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Comptroller M.M. Ibrahim, extended New Year wishes to officers and their families, while paying tribute to fallen colleagues who lost their lives in service. He expressed deep appreciation to the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for his visionary leadership and dedication to the welfare of officers.

The Comptroller emphasised the importance of upholding the 7Cs of the Nigeria Customs Service: Courtesy without loss of dignity, Clear questions, Careful examination, Clean hands in all respects, Command attention, Control situations, and Consult colleagues. He stressed that discipline is the bedrock of the Service and that negligence or betrayal of trust would not be tolerated.

The Command, which is located on critical international borders with Niger and Benin Republics, plays a frontline role in combating smuggling and illegal trade. The Comptroller charged officers to remain vigilant, proactive, and security-conscious at all times, and to improve intelligence gathering, strict adherence to operational procedures, and collaboration with sister security agencies.

The Command also reaffirmed its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including the construction of boreholes and the supply and installation of solar-powered street lights in border communities. These efforts aim to foster goodwill, improve living conditions, and enhance security in the region.

The comprehensive health check conducted for all officers underscored the Command’s commitment to the well-being of its personnel.

“Health is wealth”, Ibrahim noted, emphasising that a healthy force is a strong force, capable of safeguarding borders, combating smuggling, and facilitating trade with vigor and precision.
