Nigeria’s leading engineering and construction firm, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has declared its readiness to serve as a strategic gateway partner for European companies seeking to enter and operate successfully in the Nigerian market.

The company made this known at the just-concluded Eurocham Annual Conference and Expo 2026 held in Lagos, where Filipe Lopes of Julius Berger’s Strategic Business Development Department, representing the Director, Corporate Development, Jochen Stolle, outlined the firm’s integrated delivery strength beyond conventional construction.

According to Lopes, Julius Berger operates a full end-to-end Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and design management platform that supports project execution from concept to completion. He said the company also provides local content compliance, workforce integration, permitting and regulatory interface management, stakeholder engagement, and support for bankability and financing processes, all aligned with international Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and quality standards.

He disclosed that Julius Berger adopts proven collaboration models to support foreign partners. “On our collaboration models, Julius Berger embarks on technology partnerships by integrating European systems, equipment and digital solutions into projects where we are the lead”, Lopes said.

He added that the company participates in consortium bids, jointly pursuing Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) for sovereign and large private-sector projects, while also engaging in project finance and concession vehicles for co-development, construction and lifecycle delivery.

Other models, he noted, include serving as a local execution partner for European EPC firms and deploying proof-of-concept pilot projects to validate new technologies.

Highlighting Julius Berger’s track record, Lopes said the company has delivered landmark projects such as the FAMFA Office Tower in Lagos, Midstream Jetty, the Second Niger Bridge, Azura Power Plant in Edo State, and the Escravos Gas-to-Liquids Plant in Rivers State. He added that the company’s achievement on the Bodo-Bonny Road project would soon be unveiled, stressing that Julius Berger’s Tier-1 integrated capabilities continue to serve federal and state governments, multinationals and private clients across Nigeria.

He concluded that Julius Berger is seeking proven European technologies suitable for emerging markets, long-term partners aligned with sustainable infrastructure and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives, and co-development solutions adapted to local realities with lifecycle thinking.

Earlier, President of Eurocham Nigeria, Yann Gilbert, described the European Business Chamber Nigeria as the foremost platform uniting European companies across diverse sectors in the country. He said Eurocham promotes dialogue with Nigerian stakeholders and policymakers to ensure European business perspectives are reflected in policies shaping Nigeria’s economy.

Gilbert disclosed that Eurocham currently represents over 70 corporate members and 19 associate members across energy, technology, agriculture, consulting and manufacturing sectors. He called for greater regulatory clarity, consistency and effective execution to boost investor confidence, stressing the need for stronger public-private dialogue and faster resolution of regulatory issues.

At the Julius Berger exhibition stand, Eurocham’s President led a team of visitors to make enquiries about the company’s services, with Senior Executive, Strategic Business Development, Ndifreke Ukochio, and Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. James Agama, on hand to receive them.

Top business executives, government officials and diplomats at the event included the Managing Director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc; Head of Trade and Investment, EU Delegation to Nigeria, Rikard Hordeman; Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market, Senator Osita Izunaso; Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh; Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources, Hon.
