Turkish Airlines and Air Peace have activated a bilateral Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) interline partnership, a move set to significantly deepen connectivity between Nigeria, West and Central Africa, and the rest of the world.
Announced in Istanbul and Lagos on April 16, 2026, the agreement allows passengers to travel seamlessly across both airlines’ networks on a single ticket, with coordinated schedules and streamlined baggage handling on selected routes.
The partnership enables Turkish Airlines passengers arriving in Lagos to connect effortlessly into Air Peace’s expansive domestic and regional network across Nigeria and West Africa. In return, Air Peace customers gain access to Turkish Airlines’ extensive global route map via its Istanbul hub, one of the world’s leading aviation gateways offering onward connections across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Beyond convenience, the agreement is expected to boost trade, tourism, and business travel by linking West and Central Africa more efficiently to international markets, while strengthening travel ties between Nigeria and Türkiye.
Senior Vice President, International Relations and Alliances at Turkish Airlines, Dr. Özlem Özyön, said the deal underscored the airline’s strategic focus on Africa.
“This interline agreement with Air Peace reinforces our commitment to expanding connectivity across Africa. By combining Turkish Airlines’ global reach with Air Peace’s strong regional presence, we are generating more travel options, improved convenience, and greater accessibility for our passengers”, she noted.
On his part, Air Peace’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, described the partnership as a strategic milestone for Nigeria’s aviation sector.
“This collaboration positions Nigeria more firmly at the centre of global connectivity. By integrating our robust domestic and regional network with Turkish Airlines’ unparalleled international reach, we are delivering seamless connections, reducing travel complexity, and expanding choices for our customers”, he said.
Turkish Airlines operates modern widebody aircraft into Lagos, offering passengers a premium onboard experience with award-winning inflight catering and advanced entertainment systems. Its Istanbul hub continues to rank among the most connected in global aviation.
Air Peace, with a fleet of over 50 aircraft including Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, and Embraer jets, remains a dominant force in West African aviation, driving regional integration, trade, and mobility through its growing network.
Tickets under the interline agreement are available via both airlines’ websites and through IATA-accredited travel agents, opening a new chapter in seamless travel between Africa and the wider world.
