Alisa Hotels has strengthened its relationship with the Akwaaba Travel Market as the Ghanaian hospitality group deepened its engagement with Nigerian travel professionals and corporate clients ahead of the 22nd edition of the annual tourism and travel exhibition in Lagos.
As part of its engagement with the Nigerian travel trade, Alisa Hotels hosted a cocktail reception that brought together tour operators, travel industry stakeholders and representatives of corporate organisations, including existing partners with whom the hotel group has developed business relationships over the years.
The reception provided an opportunity for Alisa Hotels to reconnect with its Nigerian partners, explore new business opportunities and present its growing portfolio of accommodation, conferencing, dining and events facilities across Ghana.
Leading the delegation was Esperanza Adjei, Group Sales and Marketing Manager, who highlighted the importance of the Nigerian market to the group and the role of sustained industry partnerships in promoting travel between Ghana and Nigeria.
Building on the Akwaaba Connection
Alisa Hotels’ participation in Akwaaba reflects the group’s continued interest in the Nigerian travel market and its relationship with an event that has become an important meeting point for tourism and hospitality businesses across West Africa.
The engagement also provided an avenue for the hotel group to interact directly with travel agents, tour operators and corporate decision-makers who influence travel choices between the two countries.
For Alisa Hotels, the Nigerian market cuts across both leisure and business travel, with its properties positioned to accommodate individual travellers as well as conferences, corporate meetings, exhibitions, social events and other group activities.
The group used the engagement to introduce its expanding range of facilities while strengthening relationships with partners already familiar with its properties.
Expanding Hospitality Portfolio
Alisa Hotels operates properties in North Ridge, Accra, and Tema, with a portfolio covering accommodation, conference and banqueting facilities, restaurants and leisure experiences.
The group has continued to invest in its facilities as it seeks to increase its capacity for both local and international guests.
At its North Ridge property in Accra, the hotel has unveiled a 1,000-seater pavilion designed for large conferences, exhibitions and major social events.
The new facility complements the hotel’s existing conference and banquet facilities, providing additional capacity for events requiring larger spaces.
The North Ridge property has also introduced the Oasis Lounge, a new dining and lifestyle destination offering a range of culinary and beverage experiences.
The lounge operates from 10am to 10pm on weekdays, while its closing time extends to midnight at weekends.
Stronger Presence in Tema
Alisa Hotels has also expanded its offering in Tema, where Alisa Hotel Tema operates as a 50-room boutique property.
The hotel provides accommodation, conferencing and banqueting facilities and recently added a 400-seater pavilion to increase its capacity for conferences, corporate gatherings and social functions.
The additional event space is expected to broaden the hotel’s appeal to organisations seeking venues outside central Accra for business meetings and other large gatherings.
Alisa Heritage in the Pipeline
The group is also preparing for the opening of Alisa Heritage, a new luxury residential development expected to further expand its accommodation offering.
The development is planned to feature 86 superior rooms, luxury apartments and penthouses, together with conferencing facilities, a fully equipped gym, restaurant and other amenities.
The project forms part of the group’s continuing expansion and is expected to give travellers and corporate clients another accommodation and events option within its growing portfolio.
Targeting Nigerian Travellers
Alisa Hotels’ renewed engagement with the Nigerian travel trade comes against the background of long-standing tourism, business and cultural links between Ghana and Nigeria.
The cocktail reception and participation in Akwaaba provided the group with an opportunity to strengthen those connections while promoting Ghana as a destination for business, leisure and events.
The hotel group is particularly targeting Nigerian travel professionals and corporate organisations that arrange accommodation, meetings, conferences and other travel-related activities in Ghana.
Its growing portfolio of rooms, event spaces, restaurants and lifestyle facilities gives the group a wider range of products to present to the Nigerian market.
The engagement also reinforces the role of Akwaaba Travel Market as a platform for hospitality brands and tourism businesses to build relationships, renew partnerships and develop new commercial opportunities across the region.
For Alisa Hotels, the continued association with Akwaaba provides a channel through which it can maintain its connection with the Nigerian travel trade while bringing its expanding Ghanaian hospitality offering closer to Nigerian travellers.
