The Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) has elected Doctor Ibrahim Audu as the next President of the Association, along some other executive members.
Audu took over from the former President, Mr. William Ngerem, and he is to pilot the affairs of the Association for the next three years.
The election held in Lagos was the highlight of the 2024 World AIS/AIM Day celebration, a global annual event held on 15thMay.
Audu who is widely read is an indigent of Mayo Belwa Local Government Area in Adamau State, born on the 2nd of April 1975.
He attended primary and secondary school in General Murtala Mohammed College, Yola. In 1991, he obtained an SSE certificate and proceeded to Federal University of Technology, Yola, where he read Urban and Regional Planning and graduated in the year 2001.
Thereafter, he proceeded for his NYSC in Lagos State and joined the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) in May 2003, posted to the Aeronauatical Information Services (AIS) Department.
He was placed on Level 8 and deployed to Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, from where he worked in different airports; from Kano, he was transferred to Zaria and from Zaria he was transferred to Dutse International Airport in Jigawa State.
While in Zaria, he joined Amadu Bello University Zaria to read MSc, (Academic Masters) in Remote Sensing and GIS.
He was later transferred to NAMA Headquarters in Lagos, where he worked on the charter department.
Audu was later posted back to Kano as a substantive head of department at currently. He later got admission into Bayero University Kano, where he studied PhD in Environmental Management.
At present, he is an Assistant General Manager, AIS Operations and the Head of Department (HOD), AIS, Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, Nigeria.
