In a moment charged with humility and inspiration, the Managing Director/CEO of Widescope Logistic Limited, Dr. Segun Musa, was recently conferred with the prestigious title of ECOWAS Youth Ambassador by the ECOWAS Youth Council (EYC).
But for Musa who has received avalanche of awards for his philanthropy and career achievements especially in the transport and logistics sector, the accolade is not a destination; it is a challenge. “Every award I receive is a reminder that I haven’t done enough”, Musa declared, his voice resonating with conviction. “It turns me around and brings the best out of me. It’s like the world saying, ‘You need to do more”, he said during his acceptance speech.
Rather than bask in recognition, Musa used the platform to deliver a stirring message to young Africans: “the future isn’t waiting -it’s already here. “Youths of today are the custodians of tomorrow”, he said. “But that tomorrow is not some distant dream. It’s in your hands, right now”.
He likened life’s blessings to seeds of corn meant to be shared, not hoarded. “Out of the little you have, distribute. Sow the seeds of abundance. Nature will smile on you”.
Musa’s appointment as Ambassador is a nod to his years of impact, leadership, and service. Yet, he insists that the real work begins now. “To be a good ambassador is to live the values you represent. I will never disappoint you”.
The ECOWAS Youth Council, which represents youth interests across the 15-member states of the Economic Community of West African States, selects ambassadors who exemplify leadership, service, and a commitment to regional progress. Musa’s selection reflects his years of advocacy, mentorship, and strategic contributions to logistics and development across the continent.
As he steps into this new role, Musa’s message is clear: the future belongs to those who are willing to build it – brick by brick, seed by seed.
