Blue Lagos Initiatives has sealed a landmark healthcare partnership with the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) to expand access to quality medical services across riverine and coastal communities through an ambitious Telemedicine Scheme.
The agreement was reached during a high-level strategic meeting between the Blue Lagos delegation, led by its Convener, Mr. Saheed Adesanya, and the LASHMA management team, led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba. Discussions centered on deploying innovative, technology-driven healthcare solutions to underserved populations and strengthening access to essential services across Lagos State.
Under the new partnership, telemedicine services will be deployed to 152 riverine and coastal communities, enabling residents to consult healthcare professionals remotely. The initiative will provide access to medical advice, referrals, follow-up care, and other critical health services eliminating the longstanding barriers of distance and transportation.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Saheed Adesanya described the collaboration as a transformative step toward inclusive healthcare delivery.
“Healthcare is a fundamental right. This partnership reflects our commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind. By leveraging technology, we are bridging critical gaps and bringing healthcare directly to the people” he said.
Zamba reaffirmed LASHMA’s commitment to expanding healthcare access and advancing universal health coverage in Lagos State. She highlighted the importance of innovation and partnerships in reaching vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
The Telemedicine Scheme is expected to significantly improve healthcare outcomes, reduce barriers to medical consultations, promote preventive care, and provide thousands of residents with timely access to professional medical support.
Both organisations have agreed to deepen engagements on implementation strategies, community sensitisation, stakeholder mobilisation, and sustainable partnership frameworks to ensure the successful rollout of the initiative.
