Driven by the use of the internet in virtually every sphere of life, the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria, MARAN, will on Thursday November 24, 2022 hold an online media training for its members.
The training programme earlier listed for Thursday October 20, 2020 at ASCON in Badagry was shifted to November 24, 2022 because of some logistics.
The event will now take place at the International Maritime Press Centre/MARAN Secretariat at Atlantic House, Apapa, Lagos.
The theme of the one-day training is NEW TRENDS OF EFFECTIVE ONLINE REPORTING – MARITIME INDUSTRY IN FOCUS.
The online media training was conceived by the association in order to keep its members abreast of the latest technologies of digital reporting and publishing.
The capacity development workshop would also expose the trainees to the online operations of some key maritime agencies as this would aid their reportage.
Chairman Planning Committee, Mr. Fabian Anawo, commented:
“It is imperative for maritime journalists, particularly MARAN members, to be abreast with the modern media dynamics – online reporting and online activities of maritime organisations by undergoing training.
“This will enable them not only to perform their profession better but to report the industry activities effectively.”
