The Nigeria Police Force in conjunction with the National Cybercrime Centre (NCC), Lagos annexe on Tuesday arraigned seven suspected fraudsters  before a Lagos Magistrate Court in Tinubu, over alleged three-count cyberspace fraud.

The defendants, Bakare Dayo Sherif,  Olajire Olaitan, Lawal Toheed Opeyemi, Omiyale Opeyemi, Adeyemi Seyi, Odunlami Lateef, and Wahab Olanrewaju Jimoh are standing trial before Magistrate A.A. Paul on an alleged three-count charge of impersonation, internet fraud and obtaining various amounts of United States dollars from a foreigner. 

They were brought to court by officers of the Nigerian Police and they pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to them by the Registrar of the Court.

It would be recalled that the seven suspects were already standing trial over alleged Cybercrime before Magistrate M.E. Owumi between the year 2022 to 2024 within the magisterial district of the same Court. 

Magistrate Paul in his ruling on the bail application brought before the court by the defendants granted them bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties. 

In the meantime, the defendants have been remanded in Ikoyi correctional centre and the case has been adjourned till January 15, 2025.
