Face of Maritime International (FOMI) on Wednesday joined other maritime stakeholders in celebrating a dynamic female leader, Hajia Bola Muse, on the occasion of her recent birthday in Lagos.
In a congratulatory message, the Director of FOMI, Mr. Sylva Obasi, described the renowned freight forwarder as an epitome of excellence and a woman of remarkable standing in the maritime sector.
According to Obasi, “Hajia Bola Muse is a maritime amazon, a role model, and a women leader whose passion for empowerment and gender advocacy cannot be overstated.
“It is her commitment to uplifting women that endeared her to Face of Maritime International. She has been instrumental to the success of FOMI from its early days, even before becoming one of our Trustees.
“To both past and present FOMI queens, she remains a mentor and role model, while to the management, she is a dependable pillar of support at all times”, he added, noting that the organisation could not but celebrate her on such a special occasion.
Obasi further highlighted that with a professional career spanning over three decades, Hajia Muse, who chairs the Bomarah Group of Companies, has established herself as a key player in Nigeria’s maritime industry, with interests cutting across cargo handling, haulage, aviation, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and tourism.
Beyond her business accomplishments, she has played active leadership roles in several professional bodies. She previously served as President of Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA), Nigeria Chapter, and as Women Leader of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), where she championed increased female participation in the maritime industry.
Her philanthropic contributions have also stood out. Through the Bomarah Foundation, Hajia Muse has consistently used her birthday as a platform for community empowerment, organising vocational training programmes and distributing tools to widows, persons with disabilities, and the less privileged.
In his tribute, Obasi prayed for continued blessings, protection, and strength for Hajia Bola Muse, commending her enduring impact in both the maritime sector and society at large through her humanitarian initiatives.
