The much anticipated Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) Annual Lecture (MAMAL) is set to hold this Thursday November 21, 2024

at the prestigious Providence Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. 

MARAN uses this opportunity to remind stakeholders, industry professionals, who are already anxious for the day and the general public that the much-anticipated Lecture is poised to make a tremendous impact on regional trade.

Themed “AfCFTA: Dismantling Trade Barriers, Navigating Regional Trade,” the event promises to provide in-depth insights into Africa’s Free Trade Agreement and its implications for regional and global commerce.

MAMAL according to the President of the association, Godfrey Bivbere, will convene key stakeholders, policymakers, and experts from across the maritime and trade sectors to discuss strategies for maximising the opportunities presented by the AfCFTA.

The Special Guest of Honour, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, will deliver a keynote address, underscoring the federal government’s initiatives and commitment to dismantling trade barriers and fostering a competitive blue economy.

The event will also feature prominent dignitaries, including: the Secretary, AfCFTA Nigeria, Olusegun Awolowo,

renowned maritime expert and former Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA),Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, an eminent economist and the CEO of the Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE), Muda Yussuf, 

and the Comptroller General of Customs,

Adewale Adeniyi, who will serve as the Guest of Honour.

The event kicks off at 10:00  a.m prompt loaded with discussions, expert-led panels, and robust deliberations on how Nigeria and other African nations can fully capitalise on AfCFTA to enhance trade competitiveness, attract foreign investment, and boost economic growth.
