Nigeria’s leading regulators, financial institutions and corporate organisations have thrown their weight behind the 2026 SUPERNEWS Local Content Confab and 10th Anniversary Celebration, signalling growing industry commitment to strengthening collaboration between the oil and gas and insurance sectors as the country pursues inclusive economic growth.
The high-profile conference, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, has attracted support from major public and private sector players, reinforcing its position as one of the country’s recognised platforms for policy dialogue, industry engagement and thought leadership.
Among the organisations backing the event are the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria LNG (NLNG), Leadway Assurance Company Limited, Guinea Insurance Plc, the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, Universal Insurance Plc and Ugooafunwa Investment Company Limited.
The conference, themed “Local Content and Digitisation: Building Synergy Between the Oil and Gas and Insurance Sectors for Inclusive Growth,” comes at a time when stakeholders are increasingly advocating stronger inter-sector collaboration to unlock investment opportunities, improve risk management and deepen local participation in Nigeria’s energy industry.
Speaking ahead of the event, Convener of the conference and Publisher of SUPERNEWS Nigeria, Ngozi Onyeakusi, described the broad-based support from regulators and corporate organisations as a strong endorsement of the conference’s relevance in shaping conversations around national development and economic transformation.
According to her, the confidence reposed in the annual conference demonstrates its growing influence as a platform where policymakers, regulators, business leaders and industry professionals converge to exchange ideas, formulate practical solutions and promote excellence across critical sectors of the economy.

Adding to the significance of this year’s edition is the celebration of the 10th anniversary of SUPERNEWS Nigeria, marking a decade of specialised reporting and advocacy across the insurance, financial services, oil and gas and telecommunications sectors.
