Through his business enterprises, he has created thousands of employment opportunities for young Nigerians across Lagos, Abia, Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Oyo and Ogun states, while promoting youth empowerment through education, skills acquisition and job creation.
Also expected at the event is Amuchie, one of Nigeria’s leading banking executives. He serves as Executive Director and Chief Operations & Information Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, where he oversees the bank’s operations, technology infrastructure and innovation strategy.
Before joining Fidelity Bank’s board in 2022, Sir Amuchie built an illustrious career spanning over 18 years at Zenith Bank Plc, where he rose to become Group Chief Financial Officer and Group Zonal Head. He also chaired Zenith Securities Limited and previously worked with Arthur Andersen (now KPMG Professional Services), advancing to Senior Manager in Audit and Business Advisory.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Sir Amuchie is equally recognised for his philanthropy through the Goodlight Foundation, which focuses on grassroots education, youth development and community empowerment.
Another notable guest is Anyasi, an entrepreneur and business executive currently leading Sheriff Deputies Ltd and Kleenrite Ltd, two indigenous firms providing security, industrial cleaning, verification and facility management services nationwide.
Originally trained as a medical doctor, Anyasi transitioned into business leadership after assuming responsibility for the companies established by his late father, Mr. Charles Anyasi. Under his leadership, the organisations have strengthened operational efficiency, staff development, technology integration and customer-focused service delivery.
He is also pursuing executive business education at the Lagos Business School, while maintaining interests in retail, organisational development and sustainable business growth. His leadership philosophy is anchored on discipline, continuous improvement and building resilient indigenous enterprises.
Completing the list of eminent personalities is Ovadje, an internationally celebrated military medical doctor, researcher and inventor whose groundbreaking work transformed emergency medicine in Africa.
Ovadje invented the Emergency Auto-Transfusion Set (EAT-SET), an innovative, low-cost mechanical device that enables a patient’s internally spilled blood to be recovered, filtered and safely retransfused during trauma or surgery without the need for electricity. The invention has significantly reduced mortality from internal bleeding, particularly in resource-constrained healthcare settings across sub-Saharan Africa.
During his distinguished career in the Nigerian Army Medical Corps, where he rose to the rank of Brigadier General in 2003, he served as Chief Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensive Care Physician at the Military Hospital, Ikoyi, Lagos.
His revolutionary invention received patents in nine countries with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). It also earned him global honours, including the OAU/WIPO Gold Medal in 1995, where he was recognised as Africa’s Best Scientist, and the prestigious WHO Sasakawa Health Prize in 2000, making him the first African recipient of the award.
He has also been honoured by the Federal Government with the national awards of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
According to the organisers, the presence of these accomplished professionals underscores the significance of the 17th anniversary celebration and reflects the magazine’s enduring commitment to promoting excellence, leadership, innovation and national development over the past seventeen years.
