
In a landmark moment for African aviation, Air Peace, delivered a commanding performance at the 2026 Nigerian Aviation (NIGAV) Awards in Lagos, clinching an unprecedented seven awards in a single night, an achievement that underscores its growing influence on the global stage.
The high-profile ceremony, held at the NIGAV Conference Centre in Ikeja, convened key stakeholders from across the aviation ecosystem, including officials from the Enugu State Government, the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Air Peace’s sweep spanned critical categories, reflecting both operational strength and customer-focused innovation. The airline secured Airline Executive Chief of the Year for its Chairman and CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema; Nigerian Commercial Airline of the Year; Nigeria’s Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year; Best Air Travel Mobile App of the Year; Best In-flight Magazine (Alice Magazine); Best Airport Lounge of the Year; and Pilot of the Year (Male Category), awarded to Captain Callistus Ifeanyi.
Significantly, three of these honours – Dr. Onyema’s leadership award, Alice Magazine, and the West Africa Sub-Regional Airline title were retained for a second consecutive year, highlighting sustained excellence and consistency in performance.
Now in its 15th edition, the NIGAV Awards remains one of the aviation industry’s most respected platforms, recognising outstanding achievements in safety, innovation, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Reacting to the recognition, Air Peace spokesperson, Mr. Efe Osifo-Whiskey, described the sweep as both humbling and energising. He noted that the awards reflect the airline’s unwavering commitment to elevating service standards, enhancing passenger experience, and reinforcing Nigeria’s strategic role as an aviation hub in Africa.
He attributed the success to visionary leadership and the dedication of the airline’s workforce.
Beyond the accolades, Air Peace continues to scale its ambitions; expanding its domestic and international routes, investing in a modern fleet, and advancing digital and premium offerings, including its integrated customer messaging platform and loyalty programme.
