Operations were briefly disrupted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, after an electrical spark triggered smoke at the airport’s Temporary Terminal (T3).

The incident, which occurred at about 14:05 hours in an operational office, led to the temporary shutdown of the terminal as a precautionary measure.

Airport authorities confirmed that electrical maintenance is currently underway to ensure all systems are functioning optimally before the terminal is reopened.

As a result of the disruption, all flights scheduled to operate from Terminal 3 have been redirected to Terminal 2, with passengers advised to take note of the changes.

Emergency response teams from the Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS) swiftly intervened to contain the situation, preventing further escalation.

Authorities assured that the incident has been brought under control and that safety remains a top priority as efforts continue to restore normal operations.
