The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has unveiled special Easter service arrangements across its rail corridors to cater to the expected surge in passenger traffic during the festive period.

As part of the holiday operations, the Lagos–Ibadan Train Service (LITS) will run three trips on Thursday, April 2, 2026. From Mobolaji Johnson Station, departures are scheduled for 7:45 a.m., 1:40 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., while from Obafemi Awolowo Station, trains will depart at 8:00 a.m., 10:50 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.

In addition, the Corporation will operate a special narrow-gauge train in partnership with the Osun State Government, offering free travel for passengers. The train will depart Iddo Station for Osogbo at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, and return on Monday, April 6, at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Abuja–Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) will maintain its regular timetable, with two trips on Thursdays and three daily trips from Friday through Monday, running morning, mid-day, and afternoon services between Idu and Rigasa.

On the Warri–Itakpe corridor, services will continue to run daily except Thursdays, which are set aside for maintenance. Trains will depart Warri for Itakpe on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 8:00 a.m., while return trips from Itakpe to Warri will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 12:00 noon.

Similarly, the Port Harcourt–Aba Train Service on the eastern narrow gauge corridor will operate its normal schedule, departing Port Harcourt at 8:00 a.m. and Aba at 3:00 p.m.

The NRC management reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient rail services nationwide. Passengers are advised to plan ahead, arrive early at stations, and comply with ticketing and security procedures.

The Corporation also extended warm wishes to travelers, encouraging Nigerians to take advantage of rail transport as a safe and dependable option during the Easter celebrations.
