The Managing Principal of AZ Logistics, Dr. Azeez Mustapha, has commended the extension of the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of impactful leadership and ongoing reforms.

In a statement, Mustapha said the decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to extend Adeniyi’s tenure reflects confidence in his commitment to transforming the Service and strengthening its role in national economic development.

He noted that under Adeniyi’s leadership, the Nigeria Customs Service has recorded significant improvements in trade facilitation, revenue generation, and border security, while also enhancing transparency and operational efficiency across the nation’s ports.
“As a licensed logistics expert privileged to operate across all ports in Nigeria, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of his policies, particularly in promoting transparency, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement”, Mustapha stated.

According to him, these reforms have contributed to improving the ease of doing business and have reinforced the critical role
of Customs in Nigeria’s economic growth.

Mustapha expressed optimism that the extension would usher in a new phase of deeper reforms, increased collaboration between Customs and industry stakeholders, and sustained progress in aligning Nigeria’s trade ecosystem with global best practices.

He further noted that the renewed mandate offers an opportunity to consolidate ongoing gains and deliver more transformative outcomes for the Service and the country at large.

The logistics expert wished the Customs boss continued success in his service to the nation
