… partnership expands connectivity across Nigeria, West and Central Africa, while giving Air Peace passengers seamless access to Abu Dhabi
To boost connectivity between Africa and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Air Peace and Etihad Airways have signed a landmark interline agreement that will significantly expand travel options across Nigeria, West and Central Africa, while providing Air Peace passengers with seamless access to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s planned Lagos and Accra services.
The partnership connects the route networks of Nigeria’s largest airline and the UAE national carrier, enabling Etihad passengers to travel on a single ticket beyond Lagos and Accra to 20 destinations served by Air Peace.
The destinations include major Nigerian cities such as Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Benin City, Owerri, Warri and Asaba, as well as key regional destinations including Abidjan, Dakar, Banjul, Freetown, Monrovia, Conakry, Bamako, Douala and Libreville.
The agreement also allows Air Peace customers to connect seamlessly to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s services once the airline commences its new Lagos and Accra routes.
The partnership comes amid growing economic and commercial ties between Nigeria and the UAE following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in January 2026, as well as the increasing Nigerian community residing in the UAE.
For Etihad, the agreement supports its broader African expansion strategy announced in April, which includes the launch of daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Lagos. Once the service begins, passengers will be able to book through journeys linking Abu Dhabi with Air Peace’s extensive domestic and regional network.
Etihad Airways’ Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer, Arik De, described Nigeria as central to the airline’s long-term African growth strategy.
“Our ambitions in Africa are long term, and Nigeria sits at the centre of them. This agreement gives our guests access to one of the continent’s most extensive domestic and regional networks, while bringing Air Peace’s customers to Abu Dhabi to experience our home.
“Partnerships like this are how we grow with strong airlines that know their markets better than anyone”, he said.
Also speaking, Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, said the agreement aligns with the airline’s vision of expanding travel opportunities for Nigerians and West Africans.
“Air Peace has always been about opening doors for Nigerian and West African travellers. Working with Etihad Airways extends that ambition by giving our customers convenient access to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s services once the new routes begin, while bringing Etihad’s guests to the many destinations we serve across the region.
“We look forward to welcoming travellers from both networks”, Ngala said.
Combined itineraries will become available for booking on the airlines’ respective websites once the agreement takes effect.
