As Nigeria today begins to host the 7th edition of the Aviation Africa Summit & Exhibition at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the Airline Management Support Limited (AMSL) has already taken a centre stage at the Summit with avalanche of people making the attractive stand their first port.
These include a wide range of visitors, exhibitors and delegates including stakeholders in the nation’s Aviation Industry.
AMSL is a United States commercial service international award-winning partner, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA and ASA100 accredited company incorporated in 1996 to enhance flight safety by providing the highest-quality aviation products in Central and West Africa to Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier, Beech Hawker, ATR, Embraer, Leonardo aircraft and helicopter airframe families.
However, their stand inside the exhibition Centre has become a beehive of activities, few minutes, after the participants started to arrive.
One of the early arrivals at the Summit who is also a delegate, on reaching AMSL stand shouted “I feel like I am in a hangar. Wow.”
Managing/CEO of AMSL, Captaij David Olubadewo, who was seen busy taking visitors to the stand and attending to them, said he was happy for the event and that he expects it would turn out to a success.
“I am excited for the Summit, particularly because it coincides with my father’s 90 plus birthday who is the first Nigerian Aeronautical Engineer.
“This is why this is important. This show is for him.
“He started the business and I am happy it is still running today”.
Olubadewo equally added that AMSL is a distributor of Dunlop Aircraft Tyres and Cee Bee Aviation cleaning in Central and West Africa, it represents Starburst Aviation Limited, a reseller /partner of Eastman Aviation Solution products in West Africa.
In his welcome message, Director General of Civil Aviation Nigeria, Captain Musa Nuhu, welcomed participants to the summit.
According to him, “AVAF23ATT will provide an international platform for regional and global aviation ecosystem stakeholders and relevant non-industry stakeholders to collectively discuss new trends, innovations, challenges, opportunities and potentials in the African Aviation industry to put African on the global stage .”
In his introductory speech, Summit Chairman, Alan Peaford, said it was a great delight that they heard of the support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was giving to the Summit and exhibition.
Assuring that there is no doubt that Nigeria is serious about it’s plans to finally develop a cohesive and competitive aviation industry, Peaford said “Civil Aviation Authority has applied a continuous improvement approach” ensued that its regulatory approach is of the highest international standard. But Nigeria is not alone.
“Despite some geopolitical challenges, Africa and West Africa in particular is stepping up its intent to recognise the value that can bring to each country’s economy.
“SAATM may finally be seeing breakthrough; safety is a greater focus than ever before; new modern aircraft are being seen across the continent, business aviation are making inroads with representation on the continent.
“This year’s Aviation Africa Summit addresses many of those challenges.”
Meanwhile, Nigeria was selected to host the Aviation Africa Summit & Exhibition, ongoing in Abuja between September 13 and 14, 2023.
Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), in collaboration with the Times Aerospace Events put the two days event, which is in its seventh edition, together.

The summit dubbed ‘Aviation Africa 2023’ is with the theme: ‘Stepping Up for Business.’
Key industry players from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), African Airlines Association (AFRAA), airlines Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Director General Civil Aviation Authorities (DG CAAs), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Air Chiefs and airport CEOs attended the event.
Also, major stakeholders in the air navigation service providers, accident investigation bureaus, business and charter operators, cargo airlines, ground handling companies, flight training organisations, allied and ancilliary aviation service providers are expected to attend the event.
Aviation Africa Summit and Exhibition is a major aviation event, which was first held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2015.
Rwanda hosted the event in 2017, 2019 and 2022, while Egypt held it in 2018 and Ethiopia hosted it in 2020.
