If the idea of an SUV that can handle the daily city run but is equally happy leaving the tarmac behind sounds appealing, Jetour Nigeria is bringing one to Abuja next week.
The automaker will take its all-new T1 to the Federal Capital Territory from September 22 to 24, 2026, as the Jetour Experience Abuja gives motorists an opportunity to get a closer look at the adventure-focused SUV.
Following the reception of the experience in Lagos, the three-day event at Maha Event Centre, Area 8, Garki, will feature product demonstrations, technical sessions and hands-on test drives for prospective buyers and motoring enthusiasts.
Jetour said the strong participation and test-drive interest recorded in Lagos, together with growing enquiries from Abuja, prompted the decision to take the experience to the capital.
Built for the City, Ready for the Detour
The T1 appears to have been designed around a fairly simple idea: not every SUV owner wants to go off-road every weekend, but it is nice to know the vehicle can cope when the road suddenly gets interesting.
Measuring 4,705mm long, 1,967mm wide and 1,843mm high, the five-seater has a 2,800mm wheelbase and offers 574 litres of rear luggage space.
Under the bonnet, buyers can choose between 1.5-litre turbo and 2.0-litre turbo powertrains, with the latter producing up to 254hp and 390Nm of torque.
Power is sent through Jetour’s BorgWarner XWD intelligent four-wheel-drive system, paired with either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or an eight-speed automatic, depending on the configuration.
And when the road disappears altogether, the T1 comes with 199mm of ground clearance, a claimed 600mm water-wading depth and 28-degree approach and departure angles.
Plenty Going on Inside
The adventurous character continues inside, although Jetour has clearly not forgotten that most journeys still begin and end in the city.
The cabin features a 15.6-inch HD touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 platform, alongside an eight-speaker audio system.
There is also a strong emphasis on safety, with the T1’s 85 per cent high-strength steel chassis complemented by Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System technology.
The package includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
Abuja Gets a Closer Look
The Jetour Experience Abuja is also an opportunity for the brand to demonstrate the support structure behind its expanding Nigerian operations.
Jetour currently has seven accredited dealers – Elizade Nigeria Limited, New Era AutoVehicle Services Limited, Kojo Motors, Germaine Auto Centre, TAB Autos Limited, R.T. Briscoe Motors and Mandilas Autos.
The network covers vehicle sales, genuine spare parts and after-sales maintenance as Jetour continues to expand its footprint across the country.
Since entering the Nigerian market, the brand has also picked up industry recognition, including Fastest Growing Auto Brand of the Year and Auto Brand of the Year.
For Abuja motorists, however, the more interesting part may be simpler: getting behind the wheel of the T1 and finding out whether this smart-looking SUV can really make the jump from the urban commute to the occasional adventure without missing a beat.
