News Emperor Magazine has announced Students’Entrepreneurial Development (SEDS) programme to be held on on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

According to Emperor Magazine Publisher, Mr. Ambrose Okehi, the organiser of SEDS, to lead dignitaries and entrepreneurs for the capacity programme are the former Minister of Mines and Steal Development who is the the President of Master Energy Group, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, the Founder of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and also the Founder of the Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF),  Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, as well as Aare (Asiwaju) Haruna Omolajomo, the Chief Executive Officer of Harriscom Logistics Nigeria Limited, and the Executive Secretary, Association of Bonded Terminal Owners of Nigeria (BTOAN).

Also among the industry players and notable practitioners expected at the programme which is the second edition (season 2) is popular Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haasthrup Auditorium,

The event taking place at the Certified Institute of Shipping Nigeria (CISN) Complex, Magbon Badagry, Lagos is coming after the first phase which took place on Thursday June 27, 2024 at Rockview Hotel, Apapa Lagos.

This season 2 will be chaired by Aare (Asiwaju) Omolajomo, while Ogah and Aniebonam will be the Special Guests of Honour.

The event with the theme: “Entreprenureship, Career Building, and Skill Acquisition In A Conducive and Well Regulated Maritime Environment,” is coming at a time when every Nigerian and every Nigerian sector is clamouring for entrepreneurship and skill acquisition.

The two notable guest lecturers; an international maritime Consultant and  a logistics expert, Chief (Sir) Patrick Ogbo, and a Maritime Guru as well as Head of Department, Shipping Management, CISN, Mr. Okeke Okeke, who will be delivering various papers at the event.

According to the Management of Truewitness Communication and Media Services, the publishers of News Emperor and also the organisers of the event, it is meant to build capacity, create awareness about opportunities within the maritime domain, build skill and raise entrepreneurs and notify the government and those in positions of authority on the need for entrepreneurship.

It is also a platform to encourage the government agencies to embrace the spirit of capacity acquisition and career building for the good of youths, graduates and undergraduate students as well as business men and women.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Richword Communication and Media Services, an affiliate of Truewitness Communication and Media Services, Pastor Ambrose Obioma Okehi, in his comment said the one-day career building and skill acquisition seminar will see participants drawn from Nigerian universities, maritime institutions, including SSS 3 students of some notable secondary schools (aiming to catch them young), will be brainstorming on issues that will enhance entrepreneurship, career building and skill acquisition through a one-on-one mentorship and face-to-face interactions with notable maritime experts.

On those eligible to attend Okehi said, “it is for aspiring young Nigerians, entrepreneurs, including students from both Secondary (those with interest to build career in maritime sector) and Higher institutions of learning mostly those in maritime related courses.

He disclosed that the seminar is being organised by News Emperor magazine in collaboration with the Certified Institute of Shipping Nigeria (CISN).

He added that the season 2 of the 2024 SEDS will provide participants with the in-depth knowledge of maritime terminologies, their meanings and usage.

Okehi also noted that beyond helping them the participants to build careers among the youths, the seminar will avail the yong Nigerian entrepreneurs the greatest opportunity of tapping from the wisdom and wealth of knowledge of many maritime business men and women including shipping experts and industry experts who will be converging
