YDA Dalaman Airport, the gateway to Türkiye’s famed Turquoise Coast, has announced a major leap in operational efficiency with the deployment of a unified, real-time management platform developed in partnership with SITA.
The digital upgrade delivers full visibility across airport operations, enabling seamless coordination of flights, gates, check-in counters, and baggage systems, especially during peak tourism seasons when demand surges.
Fragmented systems have long posed challenges for airports, where even minor disruptions can cascade into delays affecting gate allocation, passenger processing, and aircraft turnaround times. By consolidating its core operational systems into a single integrated platform, YDA Dalaman Airport now operates from a shared, live data environment that connects all critical touchpoints.
Powered by SITA’s suite of solutions, the platform enhances decision-making by allowing teams to anticipate issues early, allocate resources more precisely, and maintain a steady passenger flow even under high-demand conditions.
Central to the transformation is the SITA Airport Management System, which unifies flight data, passenger information, and resource allocation into one ecosystem. Through the SITA Airport Integrator, this system seamlessly connects with the airport’s financial and billing infrastructure, website, passenger boarding bridges, and baggage handling systems—ensuring all stakeholders operate with synchronised, real-time information.
This end-to-end visibility enables operational teams to proactively manage disruptions, reassign gates and counters instantly, and safeguard aircraft turnaround performance ultimately delivering consistent service levels for both passengers and airlines.
Additional systems supporting the transformation include SITA FLEX, which provides shared-use check-in and boarding infrastructure for flexible scaling; SITA Bag Manager, which enhances baggage security by matching each checked bag with a boarded passenger; and the SITA Local Departure Control System, offering airlines without proprietary platforms a reliable solution for check-in, boarding, and load control.
SITATEX further strengthens coordination through secure, standardized messaging between airlines, ground handlers, and airport teams.
Speaking on the development, CEO of YDA Dalaman Airport, Yiğit Laçin, emphasised the importance of scaling operations without increasing complexity, noting that the integrated platform enables faster decision-making and more efficient use of infrastructure.
Similarly, SITA’s President for the Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye, Selim Bouri, highlighted the critical role of unified data in managing demand spikes common in tourism-driven markets, stressing that the new system will help sustain operational performance and service quality.
With an expanded terminal capacity of 17.5 million passengers since 2018, YDA Dalaman Airport remains a key player in Türkiye’s aviation landscape. The introduction of this real-time operational platform positions the airport to handle future growth with enhanced coordination, efficiency, and confidence.
