Flight operations at the Domestic Terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport were temporarily disrupted following a technical fault affecting baggage processing systems.

In a statement issued by the management, the disruption was traced to a malfunction in baggage screening equipment within the terminal, which significantly slowed down standard baggage handling and loading procedures.

The development has led to delays in some departing flights, as additional screening measures were introduced to maintain safety and security standards.

According to the statement, alternative screening arrangements have been activated using available equipment to keep flight operations running. However, these contingency measures have extended processing times, contributing to delays.

Ground staff have been fully deployed across the terminal to assist passengers, provide real-time updates, and prioritise affected flights. Authorities also confirmed that efforts are underway in collaboration with airport officials to resolve the technical issue and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.

Passengers were advised to remain patient as the situation is being managed, with assurances that all necessary steps are being taken to minimise disruptions to travel plans.

The airport management expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and pledged to provide timely updates as operations stabilise.
