… reiterates commitment to peace, harmony, collaboration, port development
The leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has called on all Nigerians to be law abiding, uphold the tenets of our unity and pledge to our patriotic callings.
President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, made this call weekend, while felicitating the Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of the of the Eid el Kabir celebration.
He said: “On behalf of my family, leadership and entire membership of Maritime workers union of Nigeria I felicitate with all our Muslim brothers and sisters faithfuls in Nigeria and all over the world on this occasion of Eid el Kabir.
“On this occasion we seize the opportunity to call on all Nigerians to be law abiding, uphold the tenets of our unity and pledge to our patriotic callings.
“We also send our warm regards to all stakeholders in the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigeria Shippers Council (NCS), National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), our stevedores, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), port operators, the federal government and the General Nigerian workers.
“While we mark this occasion Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria reiterates its commitment to continue to promote peace and industrial harmony and collaborate and support development in our ports, jetties, terminals and oil and gas platforms in our nation.”
“While we appreciate our members for their overwhelming support and respect for due process we urge them further to uphold the rule of law and due diligence,” he added.
