Former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and President/Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria, Boboye Oyeyemi, will chair the 30th anniversary celebration of Motoring World, scheduled for June 4, 2026, at the prestigious MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Delivering the keynote address is the Director.General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin, who will speak on the theme: “Motoring Media as a Catalyst for Automotive Industry Growth in Nigeria”.

The milestone event marks three decades of Motoring World’s impactful contributions to automotive journalism, policy advocacy, and industry development. It is expected to draw high-profile attendees, including government officials, policymakers, automobile manufacturers, transport operators, investors, and key stakeholders across Nigeria’s automotive and mobility ecosystem.

According to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Motoring World Magazine, Femi Owoeye, the selection of Oyeyemi as Chairman reflects his enduring legacy in road safety administration, transport reform, and mobility development both in Nigeria and across West Africa.

“Dr. Oyeyemi embodies excellence, discipline, and transformational leadership in the transport sector. His outstanding contributions to institutional reforms and road safety make him a fitting choice to chair this historic celebration”, Owoeye said.

Speaking further, Owoeye highlighted Osanipin’s leadership at NADDC, noting that he has injected renewed momentum into Nigeria’s automotive development agenda through initiatives promoting local vehicle manufacturing, automotive component production, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mobility, technical capacity building, and strategic collaborations.

The keynote address is expected to spotlight the critical role of specialised motoring media in influencing policy direction, promoting local content, enhancing consumer awareness, and supporting sustainable growth within Nigeria’s automotive industry.

As part of the celebration, distinguished individuals, government institutions, and corporate organisations will be honoured for their significant contributions to the sector over the past 30 years.

Founded on June 12, 1996, as a syndicated radio motoring programme aired on OGBC 2-FM Abeokuta and Radio Rivers Port Harcourt before evolving into a multi-platform publication, Motoring World has grown into one of Nigeria’s foremost automotive media brands dedicated to mobility advocacy and responsible journalism.

The event will also feature strategic industry conversations, high-level networking sessions, and the unveiling of a special commemorative edition of the magazine chronicling the history, achievements, and future prospects of Nigeria’s automotive industry.
