The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has successfully resolved an operational dispute between SIFAX Group and AGL Logistics over the berthing of a vessel operated by AGL, reinforcing its role as a key regulator in the nation’s maritime sector.

The intervention was led by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Dr. Akutah Pius, whose timely action helped restore operational stability and prevent potential disruptions at the port.

In a statement, the Council noted that the resolution underscores its commitment to ensuring seamless port operations, facilitating trade, and maintaining industrial harmony across the maritime industry.

It further stressed the importance of optimal utilisation of terminal facilities and the need for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to safeguard Nigeria’s maritime reputation.

The engagement ended with a mutually agreed framework for efficient cargo evacuation and improved operational coordination between the parties.

Management of both SIFAX Group and AGL Logistics commended the Council for its swift intervention, praising Akutah and the NSC for their proactive and effective regulatory oversight.
