The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) has entered into a strategic partnership with Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2), for the establishment of a permanent aviation Hall of Fame montage at the terminal.
The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at BASL’s headquarters in Lagos, ahead of the maiden induction ceremony of the NAHF scheduled for Friday, September 4, 2026.
The agreement provides for the joint hosting and management of the NAHF Montage, a permanent wall of honour at MMA2 showcasing the photographs, profiles and citations of distinguished Nigerian aviators whose contributions have helped shape the country’s aviation industry.
Representing BASL at the signing was its Head of Marketing and Creative Services, Ms. Gbubemi Vera Aibangbee, while NAHF was represented by its Co-Founders, Mr. Wole Shadare and Mr. Gboyega Adeoye.
Installation of the montage is already underway and is expected to provide passengers and visitors to MMA2 with a permanent visual record of some of the personalities who have contributed significantly to the development of aviation in Nigeria.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shadare, an aviation journalist and Co-Founder of NAHF, said the initiative was designed to ensure that outstanding contributors to the industry receive recognition for their service.
“For over 25 years I have reported on this sector and seen many heroes retire without recognition. The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame is our way of saying thank you while we are still here to clap for them”.
Adeoye said the initiative was not only about celebrating individuals but also about preserving the history and values of the aviation industry for future generations.
“This is about history, values, and inspiring young Nigerians coming into aviation. We are proud that Bi-Courtney shares this vision with us”.
Aibangbee said the location of the montage at MMA2 would give the initiative significant visibility, considering the large number of passengers and other visitors who pass through the terminal.
“MMA2 welcomes millions of passengers yearly and now they will also be welcomed by the faces of excellence who laid the foundation for Nigerian aviation. It is truly a win-win”.
Under the terms of the MoU, BASL will provide the space for the montage as well as security and maintenance, while NAHF will be responsible for content curation, periodic updates and the induction process.
The permanent installation is expected to serve as both a tribute to aviation pioneers and a source of inspiration for young professionals entering the sector.
The NAHF said the montage would be formally unveiled at 9:00am on Friday, September 4, by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, at MMA2.
The unveiling will be followed by the main induction ceremony and launch of the organisation’s maiden publication, Aviation Achievers, at Golfview Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, at 10:00am.
18 distinguished aviators are scheduled to be inducted during the ceremony.
According to the organisers, the inductees were selected based on decades of service, integrity, leadership and contributions to the growth of the Nigerian aviation industry.
The Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame is a non-political, non-profit initiative established to recognise excellence, document Nigeria’s aviation history and promote mentorship within the sector.
