Nationwide candidates sat for 40-question CBT on October 17 as LASDRI training module goes live
The inaugural Nigerian Drivers Challenge (Naija Driver 2026), Nigeria’s technology-driven motoring safety competition powered by Notch Captains Ltd., has expanded its reach to 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with verified candidate profiles active nationwide ahead of its national online qualifying examination which held on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The Project Committee disclosed this development while announcing preparations for the nationwide screening, which will determine candidates progressing to the state and national finals.
Project Director, Adrian Egonu, also revealed that the proposed Grand Finale arena recently underwent comprehensive public safety technical alignment and supervisory assessment by the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI) and the Lagos State Safety Commission.
Laptop, PC Mandatory for October 17 Examination
The organising team also released important technical requirements used for the synchronised National Theory Computer-Based Test (CBT), which commenced at exactly 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17.
According to the organisers, the examination featured 40 multiple-choice questions completed within 20 minutes.
To safeguard the integrity of the competition, prevent identity fraud and ensure transparency, the challenge’s technology platform incorporated a proprietary anti-cheating security system.
Consequently, all candidates were required to take the examination using a personal computer or laptop equipped with a functional webcam and a fast, reliable internet connection.
Mobile phones and tablets were not be supported, as the platform’s security encryption and monitoring protocols required desktop operating systems.
Candidates across the participating states have were advised to make adequate arrangements for access to laptops or desktop computers and stable internet connectivity ahead of the examination.
LASDRI Training Module Integrated into Challenge Portal
In another development, the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI) officially integrated its core professional driver training module into the Nigerian Drivers Challenge portal.
Registered candidates now have free access to a range of state-vetted learning resources through their dashboard, including defensive driving guides, highway code manuals and post-crash first aid procedures.
The integration is expected to equip participants with essential road safety knowledge and professional driving skills while preparing them for the theoretical examination.
State Champions to Battle for National Crown in Lagos
Following the online examination, the highest-scoring candidates from each participating state will emerge as finalists and proceed to the next stage of the competition.
The selected finalists will be invited to Lagos from November 7 to 10, 2026, for live practical driving challenges at the National Stadium, Surulere, where they will compete for the coveted Naija Driver 2026 national title.
The competition will feature state and national champions, with attractive prizes to be won by outstanding participants.
Registration and access to the training resources remained completely free for male and female motorists aged between 18 and 65.
